Citroen unleashes DS 5LS R concept with 300 bhp
Citroen has revealed online the DS 5LS R concept which will make its public debut in a couple of weeks during the Beijing Motor Show in China. Chances are the French marque is previewing a more powerful variant of the China-only 5LS since this R concept packs a 4-cylinder, 1.6-liter turbocharged engine outputting an impressive 300 bhp and a peak torque of 400 Nm. Compared to the standard car, the concept is 15mm lower and has been fitted with considerably wider front tracks. The engine is coupled to a sequential gearbox with paddle shifters mounted behind the steering wheel.
Citroen mentions they also tweaked the chassis, suspension and braking system to better handle the added power. The DS 5LS R concept has received a gorgeous Carmine Red exterior paint and sits on 20-inch rims which have a carbon look. Inside there’s an Alcantara + leather combo for the upholstery, authentic carbon fiber inserts and performance seats.
