Clio Renaultsport 220 Trophy EDC announced
The Clio Renaultsport 220 Trophy EDC has been introduced this month at the 85th Geneva Motor Show. It’s an evolution of the Clio RS and comes with an additional 20 HP and 20 Nm squeezed from the same 1.6-liter four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine which now develops 220 HP and 260 Nm of torque. The rev limit has been increased from 6,500 rpm to 6,800 rpm while the added torque boost function will provide the car with 280 Nm for a brief moment when in fourth or fifth gear.
Renault’s engineers have also made a few revisions to the EDC transmission that now changes gears 40% faster than before when in Normal and Sport modes while in Race mode it’s 50% faster as a result of implementing a new software calibration.
The Clio Renaultsport 220 Trophy EDC benefits from Radical 18-inch alloys shod in 205/40 R18 Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires while some of the other hardware upgrades include a faster steering rack, 20mm front / 10mm rear lowered sports suspension, firmer shock absorbers and new rear springs which are 40% stiffer than before.
Customers can add the “Trophy” interior kit which encompasses a carbon finish for the door handles, gear lever and air vent surrounds, along with satin chrome air vent inserts and heated leather-wrapped sport seats.
Renaultsport has announced the new Clio Trophy will go on sale this June.
