Datsun GO+ breaks cover
It was about two months ago when Nissan officially resurrected the Datsun brand by introducing the GO five-door hatchback which is essentially a cheaper variant of the Micra. Now, Datsun is back with a second model representing an MPV version entitled GO+. Measuring 3995mm in length, 1635mm in width and 1485mm in height, the Datsun GO+ has the same wheelbase as the hatchback but the overall length has increased by a considerable 210mm. This allowed Datsun to provide the GO+ with two additional rear seats which means the car can carry up to seven people (including driver).
Other than the extended rear, the car is virtually the same as its hatchback brother and comes with an identical 1.2-liter gasoline power unit mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Inside there doesn’t seem to be a conventional radio as Datsun replaced it with a mobile docking station which comes with support for smartphone integration.
Both versions of the GO will be made in Indonesia and will go on sale in 2014.
