Earning the Jeep Badge of Honor
Jeep understands that off-roading has become more than just a past time activity that people do a few times a month. They fully understand that off-roading has become an integral part of everyday life. Thanks to that recognition, Village Jeep of Detroit expalins that Jeep Corporate has created Badge of Honor. Badge of Honor is an online community that rewards and celebrates people who have embraced the off-roading life! They have even made it easier than ever to discover new trails, show off your badges, and display your Jeep, through an application that you can download. This application is available in the Apple App Store, along with Google Play.
As a way of giving you challenges and goals to work towards, Jeep has created four specific badges for off-roading enthusiasts that have completed the most difficult trails imaginable. These trails include the Rubicon Trail, Cliff Hanger, Black Bear Pass, and Crawl Daddy.
Rubicon Trail:
This trail is the testing ground for off-roading capabilities of every Jeep model. The trail itself is 22-miles long and gives you a part road, part trail path. You’ll find the trail in the Sierra Nevada of California, which means if you aren’t in the area, you can probably hit a few trails before conquering Rubicon. You’ll not only be able to put your Jeep to the test, but you’ll be able to drive through the El Dorado National Forest, and experience places like Big Sluice, Loon Lake, Ellis Creek, Gatekeeper, Soup Bowl, Spillway, Rubicon Springs, and Thousand Dollar Hill. There is a major warning for this trail–it isn’t for stock 4×4 vehicles or beginners. You’ve been warned!
Cliff Hanger:
Located in Moab, Utah is Cliff Hanger! Anyone looking for their next big challenge needs to find time to drive out to Utah and put their skills, and their Jeep, to the test. This trail includes sheer drop-offs for the majority of the trail, rock obstacles, and even spectacular views. While Cliff Hanger might throw plenty of challenges at you, it makes sure to continually reward you with some of the most beautiful views in the United States. So gear up, it’s time to put your grip strength to the test, and put all of that off-road training to the test.
Black Bear Pass:
Beginners beware, Black Bear Pass was not made for you. This trail, located in Telluride, Colorado, was not made for the faint of heart. Instead, experts will be challenged with mile-long series of switchbacks that are high above Bridal Veil Falls. You’ll be able to bear witness to historic mines, dramatic waterfalls, and even Red Mountain Pass. Don’t let your nerves get the best of you, Black Bear Pass is ready to see what you’re really made of.
Crawl Daddy:
If you’re looking for a trail that is more multifaceted, you’ll want to drive to Rausch Freek Off Road Park in Pennsylvania. This park gives a wide variety of difficulty, from ‘Moderate’ to ‘Very Challenging’. That means, even if you’re a beginner you can enjoy easy trails, and as you become more comfortable and experienced, you can keep coming back for more. With the glacial ‘Rock Creek’, rock obstacles, hills, and even free on-site camping, this is the place to be for every Jeep off-roading enthusiast!
