Ford introduces production version of Escort for Chinese market
The 2014 Beijing Motor Show was the venue Ford chose to introduce the production version of the Escort which will be sold exclusively in China. It looks virtually the same as the concept revealed last year and it will be produced in China by the Changan Ford joint venture while responsible for the styling was a design team from Australia. The vehicle seems to be mixing some styling cues from the Fiesta, Focus and Mondeo and all of them share the Aston Martin-inspired front grille.
The vehicle will be offered only with a 4-cylinder, 1.5-liter Ti-VCT gasoline engine with a yet undisclosed output. The interior cabin has been fitted with a Device Dock, six airbags, as well as a Connect Radio system which allows the owner to connect via Bluetooth his smartphone to the Escort’s infotainment system.
