Independent design artist X-Tomi Design has rendered a potential Ford Mondeo RS which could eventually happen. The very appealing mid-size model has received a more aggressive body with a fixed rear wing and beefier side skirts while the lowered sports suspension has been matched with a set of large wheels and low-profile tires. Also noticeable are the enlarged brakes and dual oval exhaust pipes denoting this is indeed an RS-badged model from the Blue Oval company.
According to the latest gossip, a Ford Mondeo RS is actually in the works and is expected to get a 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost engine delivering in excess of 400 HP (394 kW). However, it won’t be out anytime soon taking into account Ford usually launches an RS version towards the end of the model’s lifecycle.
We base this assumption on the fact that the Focus RS has been launched with only about a year or two until the next-gen model while a Fiesta RS will be introduced during the supermini’s last period on the market in this generation.
