Hennessey Performance received a request from the owner of a 2013 Ford Taurus SHO to increase the output of the car’s engine. As a reminder, the latest Taurus SHO is motivated by a V6 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine developing 365 bhp (272 kW).
After the Texas-based tuner worked its magic, the six-cylinder engine was capable of delivering no less than 445 bhp (332 kW). Thanks to this significant power boost, the Taurus SHO now needs just 4.3 seconds until 60 mph (96 km/h) and will do the quarter mile in 12.8 seconds at 109 mph (175 km/h).
They were able to squeeze more horsepower by remapping the ECU, along with installing a dual cold-air induction system and a stainless steel cat-back exhaust system. Other noticeable changes compared to the stock model include embroidered headrests, “Hennessey” and “445 Boost” badges, as well as serialized engine and dash plaques.
This tuning kit offered by Hennessey comes with a one-year / 12,000-mile limited warranty.
