Ford unleashes Shelby GT350 Mustang in L.A.
Ford has taken the wraps off the Shelby GT350 Mustang which will act as the flagship version of the firm’s iconic pony car. It will sit above the V8 5.0-liter GT version and will pack an enlarged 5.2-liter V8 equipped with a flat-plane crankshaft and will generate more than 500 bhp (373 kW) & 542 Nm (400 lb-ft) of torque. Output will be transferred to the 19-inch alloy wheels (unique to this model) via a 6-speed manual transmission. The model will be sold as standard with a Torsen limited slip differential while the stopping power comes from Brembo 394mm front & 380mm rear rotors.
For more money, customers will have the possibility of configuring their Shelby GT350 Mustang with an optional Track Pack encompassing a transmission oil cooler and an engine oil cooler. The interior will benefit from standard Recaro seats, an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a dual zone climate control system.
One another important feature is the driver control system which has five modes that alter some of the car’s settings such as steering effort, stability and traction control, throttle mapping, exhaust and ABS.
Deliveries of the Ford Shelby GT350 Mustang will begin in 2015 and the price will be significantly higher than the Mustang GT Coupe which begins at $32,100.
