Galpin Ford GTR1 announced with 1,024 bhp
If you are waiting for the revival of the epic Ford GT, you are in luck as something very similar to that car is about to be launched. It’s not made by Ford so can’t be considered as a true successor to the GT.
It’s the next best thing and it will be produced by Galpin Auto Sports. Known as the GTR1, it is actually based on the Ford GT and will be showcased in public for the first time in August at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
GAS says the car will be able to reach an impressive top speed of no less than 225 mph (362 km/h).
This will be possible thanks to a twin-turbo 5.4-liter V8 engine unleashing a whopping 1,024 bhp (764 kW) and a peak torque of 1,001 Nm (739 lb-ft). The supercar will feature a hand-crafted aluminum body developed by Metalcrafters which is 5 inches wider than what the regular Ford GT came with. The body will also be optionally available with a carbon fiber construction.
The Galpin GTR1 is going to come with six-piston calipers equipped with full carbon rotors, while the car will ride on massive 20-inch rims wrapped around in Pirelli P-Zero rubbers. Inside it has leather upholstery, a machined aluminum instrument cluster and carbon fiber accents.
