Guide to charging cell phone battery from car

The cell phone is turning out to be an indispensable product nowadays as our need for communication makes us carry it everywhere we go. This is applicable also when travelling by car, especially if we are about to take a long trip. However, a problem immediately emerges as smartphones nowadays are big energy consumers while the batteries haven’t progressed that much to offset the bigger screens and the multitude of battery-draining apps. However, there is a partial solution to fixing this issue, like using a charging pod in your car.

A fine example of such a product is the BlackBerry Bold 9790 Charging Pod which can be had for just $29.49 at various online stores. Primarily designed to be used at home, this can easily be used inside your car if you have an available socket. The smartphone will connect to the charging pod via a bundled USB cable so you’ll still be able to use it (preferably over Bluetooth) while it’s charging. After you park the car, you can use it to access the keyboard, read/send e-mails or use the multimedia player. In other words, the smartphone won’t lose its functionality whilst charging. After arriving home, you can take the charging pod inside in case you need to recharge the battery again.

Needless to say, this is just an example of such a product since there a hundreds of chargers available for a multitude of smartphones. Make sure the one that you buy is compatible to the phone you are using. If you don’t have a free socket available in the car, you can easily connect the charger pod to the cigarette lighter. In case you want to charge several cell phones and/or other devices simultaneously, it’s best to acquire a cigarette lighter/car outlet splitter. One last piece of advice that we can give is buying a battery charger and an extra battery to make sure you won’t run out of juice.
