The Montreal International Auto Show is certainly not one of the most important motor events in the world and doesn’t get a lot of attention from automakers, especially since it is organized during the significantly more important North American International Auto Show organized in Detroit. Anyway, from time to time there are a few carmakers such as Honda that reveal exclusive concepts at the Montreal show. At this year’s Canadian event, the Japanese brand has revealed a concept that goes by the name of GEAR. This is described as being a fresh new study of a subcompact model targeted towards the younger crowd.
Honda has mentioned the inspiration from this concept came from fixed-gear bicycles so this is envisioned as an alternative to usual subcompact cars which are either too expensive or too impractical, despite being fun and zippy. The company’s officials stated it’s for the “young, discerning urban buyers”, but no further details were revealed, such as what powers the concept or whether the Japanese brand plans on putting this concept into production or something based on the GEAR concept.
We will offer more details as soon as Honda reveals more info about this fresh new concept.
