Honda reveals Mugen-modified 2014 City
Towards the end of last month Honda unveiled in the Philippines a special version of the 2014 City customized by Mugen. The vehicle is set to go on sale in select markets in the third quarter of this year and will come with an array of cosmetic updates. Mugen has already announced they are working on upgrades for the engine, brakes, suspension and they will also do something to spice up the cabin which in the current configuration is considered by many to be a bit on the dull side.
The car seen here was fitted with reshaped front and rear bumpers as well as massive side skirts and a blackened front grille. It sits on a unique set of 17-inch rims and has been configured with a lip rear spoiler and several Mugen stripes and decals.
The Mugen version is actually based on the VX variant and is motivated by a naturally-aspirated, 1.5-liter 4-cylinder gasoline engine delivering a rather modest 120 HP and a peak torque of 145 Nm. The engine can work with either a five-speed manual standard or an optional continuously variable transmission.
