Hyundai applies a small facelift on the Veloster Turbo
Hyundai has taken the wraps off a small facelift for the Veloster Turbo sold in South Korea. The order books are already open for those who are in the market for a fairly potent hatchback which now has a silver trim on the front grille along with new alloy wheel designs and a slightly reworked fog light cluster. The headlights have also received a subtle makeover while on the inside there are new sporty seats available in three different finishes. Hyundai has also installed an engine sound equalizer which provides six selectable fake engine sounds.
Under the hood it’s the same four-cylinder 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with 204 HP (150 kW) but now it can be coupled to a newly developed dual-clutch, seven-speed gearbox borrowed from the Euro-spec i30 Turbo facelift. It should be mentioned that the European variant of the Veloster Turbo is rated at only 186 HP (137 kW).
