Hyundai Veloster Rally Edition breaks cover in Chicago
The 2016 Hyundai Veloster Rally Edition has made its world premiere at the Chicago Auto Show. This latest special edition of the Veloster is based on the Turbo R-Spec version but can be visually distinguished by a unique Matte Blue exterior paint scheme, special badging, carbon fiber-like aerodynamic accents as well as lightweight RAYS 18-inch alloy wheels. On the inside it has received sport seats wrapped around in black leather and featuring “turbo” lettering and blue accents. Moreover, the car also has received embroidered floor mats.
Underneath the hood of the 2016 Hyundai Veloster Rally Edition is a 4-cylinder 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline engine developing 201 bhp (150 kW) and a peak torque of 264 Nm (195 lb-ft). Output is channeled to the wheels through a 6-speed manual gearbox featuring a B&M Racing Sport Shifter. Hyundai’s engineers have also fitted the model with a stiffer stabilizer bar and sportier springs.
At the moment of writing there aren’t any details regarding the model’s price tag but we do know production is going to be capped at 1,200 cars.
