Kia’s UK division is launching the Sportage Axis Edition of which only 1,200 units will ever be made. It’s already available on order and comes with a number of enhancements such as the standard roof rails, LED daytime running lights, glossy black mesh radiator grille and rear LED combination lamps. It can also be distinguished by its roof-mounted shark fin antenna and is offered with electric folding mirrors (with LED turn signals) and automatic headlights.
As far as the interior cabin is concerned, the Kia Sportage Axis Edition benefits from black leather upholstery with contrast grey Dinamica microfiber inserts along with a black headliner and light grey door inserts. It has also received an auto-dimming rearview camera, privacy glass, black sun visors, along with map light switches and black B and C pillar coverings.
Customers will be able to buy the limited-run Sportage with a four-cylinder, 1.6-liter GDi naturally aspirated gasoline engine producing 133 bhp and 165 Nm of torque. There’s also a more economical 1.7-liter turbodiesel which generates 114 bhp and 260 Nm. Regardless of engine choice, a front-wheel drive layout will be standard and all cars come with a 6-speed manual gearbox and Kia’s stop & go system to cut fuel consumption when waiting at a red light.
Kia is asking 20,995 GBP (OTR) for the limited edition Sportage with the gasoline engine whereas the diesel begins at £22,395.
