What you should know about 2015 Ford Chassis Cab models ?
In addition to outstanding durability, the 2015 Ford Chassis Cab models have a selection of features and options which let them fill any need.
Ford provides three different engines for Chassis Cab models, depending on the performance required for the job. A 6.2L V8 gas engine provides 385 horsepower and 405 lb-ft of torque along with the fuel economy you need, and is E85-capable – it can run on unleaded gasoline, E85, or any mixture of the two.
If you need more torque, Ford also provides a 6.4L V10 gas engine, which delivers 362 horsepower and 457 lb-ft of torque.
Should you need even more torque than that, there’s the 6.7L Power Stroke V8 turbo diesel, with 300 horsepower and 660 lb-ft of torque. In addition to providing excellent fuel economy, this engine is also capable of using B20 biodiesel.
All three engines – 6.2L V8, 6.4L V10, and 6.7L turbo diesel – will be paired with Ford’s TorqShift six-speed automatic transmission. This transmission is designed for heavy loads, and includes a tow/haul mode and allows progressive range selection and full manual operation. Additionally, the V8 and V10 gas engines can be fitted with a CNG/LPG prep package to enable the installation of a bi-fuel system, and the Power Stroke V8 turbo diesel is compatible with live-drive power takeoff to enable the operation of multiple accessories.
Ford offers a selection of other features as well, intended to improve Chassis Cab performance in business and heavy-duty situations. These include integrated upfitter switches allow aftermarket accessories to be reliably connected to the vehicle’s dash, an Intelligent Oil Life Monitor assists with maintenance of the Power Stroke turbo diesel, an integrated Trailer Brake Controller to synchronize the vehicle and trailer brakes, and PowerScope trailer tow mirrors which can be adjusted, folded, and telescoped from inside the cabin.
