Lamborghini Asterion unleashed in Paris with hybrid system
This is Lamborghini’s first ever gasoline-electric hybrid vehicle and it’s called the Asterion. The concept makes use of the firm’s familiar naturally aspirated V10 5.2-liter sourced from the Huracan and developing 610 HP (449 kW) which works together with no less than three electric motors that generate an additional 300 HP (220 kW), with the power being sent to both axles through a 7-speed DSG transmission. Thanks to this hardware arrangement, the Lamborghini Asterion concept provides an impressive combined output of 910 HP (669 kW), enough for a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) run in 3 seconds and a top speed of 199 mph (320 km/h).
Lamborghini says the Asterion concept can be driven on electric power only for up to 31 miles (50 km) during which it can hit a maximum speed of 78 mph (125 km/h). The vehicle has been equipped with 20-inch front / 21-inch rear wheels wrapped around in Pirelli tires. For the interior, the engineers decided to install the seats a bit higher compared to the company’s road-going models as a method to obtain a more comfortable seating position suitable for long journeys.
