Mazda Carol introduced in Japan
The 2015 Mazda Carol has been revealed online this week and is bound to go on sale in Japan starting January 30th. If the car looks familiar, that’s because it is basically a rebadged version of the Suzuki Alto so the styling has nothing to do in common with Mazda’s appealing KODO design language. The base model is equipped as standard with a two-speaker sound system, keyless entry, air conditioning system while the upper-spec models also benefit from heated front seats, tilt steering wheel and power windows.
Under that tiny hood of the 2015 Mazda Carol you will find a small 660cc engine generating a modest 49 HP (36 kW) and 42 lb-ft (58 Nm) of torque. Opt for the VVT variant and the engine delivers 52 HP (38 kW) and 46 lb-ft (52 HP). The base model has a fantastic fuel consumption of only 3.6 liters / 100 km while the VVT model is even more economical as it consumes a mere 2.7 liters / 100 km.
Mazda says the 2015 Carol carries a starting price of ¥847,800.
