The Mazda KOERU (meaning “go beyond”) concept is currently on display at the Frankfurt Motor Show. It likely previews the upcoming all-new CX-7 which will utilize the latest implementation of the KODO design language and in this conceptual guise the vehicle is 4.6 meters long, 1.9 meters wide and 1.5 meters tall. It rides on large 21-inch alloy wheels and adopts a muscular yet sporty design which should make the production car stand out in the SUV segment.
Mazda doesn’t say what powers the concept but they do promise that it offers a “true Jinba-ittai driving experience” while the modern interior cabin is roomy enough to carry up to five people. On the inside there is a latest generation MZD Connect system benefiting from the latest advancements in car connectivity while the numerous safety and assistance systems make it a viable solution for a family.
It’s not known at this point when the Mazda KOERU concept will morph into a production version but most likely it will happen in the second half of next year, with sales to commence by late 2016 or early 2017. Needless to say, it will be a mid-size SUV with powerful engines, spacious interior and that lovely Mazda design.
