Mercedes-Benz introduces long wheelbase E-Class at Auto Shanghai
Mercedes-Benz has announced a long wheelbase version of the recently facelifted E-Class. It will be sold only in China and made its debut last weekend at the Auto Shanghai. The overall length of the car stands at 5019mm, while the wheelbase is of 3014mm (+140mm compared to standard model). Thanks to the elongated wheelbase, passengers sitting in the back can now enjoy an additional 14cm of legroom. It will be offered with two front fascias as the Sedan model gets a regular radiator grille with the logo on the hood, while the Sport Sedan has a sportier front fascia with centrally-mounted logo on grille, AMG wheels, side skirts and front/rear aprons.
Customers will have the possibility of opting for the entry-level E 260 L BlueEFFICIENCY model that comes with a 4-cylinder, direct-injection engine pumping out 204 HP. There’s also the E 300 L with its six-cylinder mill producing 245 HP. Another model in the lineup is the E 400 L that also has a six-cylinder engine but with an output increased to 333 HP. All these engines are linked to an automatic gearbox.
Additional models are planned to expand the E-Class L family, including the E 400 L Hybrid which right now is being exhibited at Auto Shanghai.
