Mercedes-Benz launches all-new 2016 C-Class Coupe

Mercedes-Benz has staged the world premiere of the 2016 C-Class Coupe which is now heading to the Frankfurt Motor Show. It looks a lot like a downsized S-Class Coupe and that’s not necessarily a bad thing as the body looks quite appealing with that sloped roofline and the familiar rear end which also takes cues from the AMG GT. In comparison to the old model, the new C-Class Coupe is 95 mm longer and 40 mm wider while the wheelbase has been elongated by 80 mm to enable a significantly more spacious interior cabin.

The Daimler-owned marque is providing details only about the C300 and C300 4MATIC models in U.S. specification which come with a four-cylinder, 2.0-liter pushing out 241 bhp and 273 lb-ft of torque. Needless to say, the rest of the engines and gearboxes along with the optional air suspension will be sourced from the sedan and wagon.

Right now we only get to see the regular 2016 C-Class Coupe whereas the C63 version will be unveiled on August 19 and this one too will be making an appearance next month in Frankfurt. The new C-Class Coupe family will go on sale in Europe before the end of this year whereas the US-spec model will be available in the spring of 2016.
