Perhaps the most beautiful car being exhibited at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show is the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe. Envisioned as a preview for a spiritual successor of the CL-Class, the concept adopts a different look when compared to the regular S-Class. It rides on 21-inch rims and has a long 2945mm wheelbase, while its physical dimensions stand at: 5050mm length, 1985mm width and 1409mm height. Motivation is provided by a V8 4.6-liter Biturbo gasoline engine outputting 455 bhp and a maximum torque of 700 Nm. Its production sibling should be unveiled at 2014 NAIAS next January in Detroit.
Getting back to this concept, the S-Class Coupe sports the company’s Intelligent Drive technology with two stereo cameras which analyze the car’s surroundings and can also detect object movement. In addition, the system scans the area of the car on a 500-meter range and will send the info to the MAGIC BODY CONTROL suspension which will make the necessary adjustments to make the ride as comfortable as possible.
The interior cabin boasts an attractive white instrument panel and aluminum ventilation nozzles with ceramic and aluminum inserts. Other highlights include a hand-woven silk roofline, handmade silk carpet and supple calfskin for the instrument panel and seats.
