Brabus is presenting their latest upgrade package developed specifically for the Mercedes S500 Plug-In Hybrid. They concentrated on boosting output of the turbocharged V6 3.0-liter engine which has gained an additional 52 PS and 70 Nm for a grand total of 385 PS and 500 Nm. When working together with the electric motor, the hybrid setup is capable of providing a combined output of 500 PS and 890 Nm. Thanks to this power hike, the full-size hybrid sedan will run the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) journey in 4.9 seconds, thus making it 0.3s quicker than the standard version.
Aside from packing more muscle, the Mercedes S500 Plug-In Hybrid by Brabus has also received a custom set of 22-inch alloy wheels, a wide body kit and a stainless steel sports exhaust system featuring four tips. Also noticeable is the extra exterior LED lighting and a vastly customized interior cabin with carbon fiber and wood trims, along with the tuner’s iBusiness multimedia system.
Brabus has not mentioned whether the upgrades brought in the powertrain compartment have affected in any way the fuel consumption, but we should mention the series version returns 78.4 mpg US and emits 69 g/km of CO2.
