MINI JCW Countryman ALL4 Dakar special edition breaks cover
To celebrate its Dakar Rally triumph, MINI has decided to prepare a special edition of the John Cooper Works Countryman which will be sold with the ALL4 Dakar moniker. The vehicle wears a matte black paint on the outside featuring green sport stripes as well as MINI ALL4 Racing badging so that people we’ll know they’re dealing with a special edition model. The car is riding on 19-inch alloys and boasts Dakar logos. The same styling theme is applied on the inside where there are green embroidered headrests and green contrast stitching, as well as an individually-numbered plaque. There’s also a green and black trim.
Under the hood it retains the 4-cylinder 1.6-liter turbo engine of the standard model, being capable of outputting 218 HP (160 kW) and a peak torque of 207 lb-ft (280 Nm). It sends power to all four wheels with the help of the all-wheel drive ALL4 system which helps the car sprint to 62 mph (100 km/h) in seven seconds.
The MINI John Cooper Works Countryman ALL4 Dakar special edition will be produced in only 11 units and will be sold exclusively in France. The reason why they’ll make only 11 cars is to pay a tribute to Stéphane Peterhansel’s 11 Dakar Rally wins.
