Mitsubishi reveals MiEV Evolution II for 2013 Pikes Peak
Mitsubishi has announced its plans to compete this year at 2013 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb with two MiEV Evolution II which will be driven by Hiroshi Masuoka (two-times Dakar Rally world champion) and Greg Tracy (six-time Pikes Peak motorcycle champion).
The all-electric vehicle has the following dimensions: 4870mm in length, 1900mm in width and 1390mm in height. It benefits from a carbon cowl, pipe-frame chassis and a 50 kWh battery pack which has been installed under the floor in order to lower the car’s center of gravity.
Powering the MiEV Evolution II are four electric motors which generate a maximum output of 400 kW as each provides 100 kW. They work combined with a Super All-Wheel Control and an Active Yaw Control system, Mitsubishi has also fitted the electric racer with what they call an Active Stability Control system which controls brake force on its own to improve stability.
