Next-gen Ford Focus RS could have 335 HP
New details have emerged about the next generation of the Ford Focus RS which is likely to hit the market sometime in 2015. The most important piece of information would have to be the output which is estimated at around 335 HP (246 kW). This power will be produced by a 2.3-liter EcoBoost turbocharged engine which benefits from direct injection.
All those ponies will be sent to the car’s front wheels. At one point during development, Ford’s engineers considered equipping the 2015 Focus RS with an all-wheel drive configuration but they changed their minds and decided to stick with a FWD setup.
Chances are the same engine will also be available for the next-gen Ford Mustang which will be sold not only in the United States but also in Europe as well. The engine will probably have a different output in the Mustang compared to the Focus ST. The 2015 Mustang will also be available with a beefier V8 engine for both markets.
AutoBild.de says the upcoming Ford Focus RS will have a starting price of around 40,000 euros.
