Peugeot 208 GTi available from 18,895 pounds
Peugeot’s UK division has announced pricing details about the 208 GTi. Set to go on sale this March, the flagship model of the 208 lineup will cost 18,895 pounds, making it a full 2,000 pounds more expensive than the Ford Fiesta ST but just about the same as the Seat Ibiza Cupra. At its heart is a 4-cylinder, 1.6-liter engine pumping out 200 hp, making it 20 hp more powerful than the Fiesta ST.
The torque figure stands at 203 lb-ft, which is 11 lb-ft less than the Fiesta ST with overboost. It needs 6.8 seconds to perform the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) run and has CO2 emissions standing at 139 g/km.
In comparison to the standard variant, the Peugeot 208 GTi has 10mm wider front tracks and 20mm wider rear tracks, along with sports springs, recalibrated dampers, an updated steering and tweaked anti-roll bars. It adopts a MacPherson strut front suspension while at the back it gets a torsion beam setup that has been revised in order to provide the hot supermini with “an incisive driving experience.”
The hot 208 rides on 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped around in 205/45 rubbers and features 302mm ventilated discs at the front and 249mm rear discs. It tips the scales at 2557 lbs (1160 kg) and comes with a considerably more aggressive body kit than the stock model.
