Polaris Slingshot officially unveiled
Polaris has taken the wraps off the 2015 Slingshot three-wheeler which is motivated by a 2.4-liter EcoTec engine outputting 173 bhp (129 kW) and 166 lb-ft (225 Nm) of torque sent to the rear wheel with help from a 5-speed manual transmission and a carbon reinforced drive belt. The vehicle tips the scales at 771 kg (1,700 lbs) and has the following physical dimensions: 149.6 inches length, 77.6 inches width, 51.9 inches height and a 105 inch wheelbase while the ground clearance stands at 5 inches. The front wheels are 18 inches big while the rear one is 20 inches.
The 2015 Polaris Slingshot features polymer body panels along with LED taillights, projector beam headlights, reverse tilt hood and three-point seatbelts and roll hoops. It has been fitted with a forged aluminum double wishbone suspension and comes with electronic power-assisted steering with electronic stability control.
On the inside it boasts a 4.3-inch LCD display, 6-speaker sound system, Bluetooth and USB support, a backup camera, locking glove box, adjustable waterproof seats and two lockable storage bins. Prices kick off at $19,999 and go up to $23,999 for the Slingshot SL.
