Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS debuts at 2015 NAIAS
The Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS has made its world premiere at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The Stuttgart-based company has prepared yet another derivative of its growing 911 lineup and this latest version serves as a 50th anniversary celebration of the original 911 Targa and can be visually distinguished by its bespoke front bumper and wider rear fenders. It also comes as standard with bi-xenon headlights, a sports exhaust system, aerodynamic side mirrors and 20-inch lightweight alloys featuring a glossy black finish. On the inside it gets four-way adjustable Sport Plus seats as well as Alcantara upholstery.
In terms of power, the Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS has a 6-cylinder 3.8-liter engine outputting 430 HP (316 kW) and a maximum torque of 324 lb-ft (440 Nm). Output is channeled to both axles and grants the vehicle with a 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) run in as little as 4.1 seconds (0-100 km/h takes 4.3 seconds) on its way to a maximum speed of more than 186 mph (300 km/h).
Other goodies offered with the Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS include a Sport Chrono package and a PASM chassis. As expected, all these come at a cost as the model carries a starting price of €137,422 (VAT included) at home in Germany where it’s scheduled to go on sale in March.
