Porsche launches 911 Carrera 4 and Targa 4 with turbo engine
Porsche is proud to introduce the turbocharged 911 Carrera 4/4S, Carrera 4/4S Convertible and the Targa 4/4S. All these refreshed models have made the switch to a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter 6-cylinder engine just like the rear-wheel drive 911 Carrera lineup which was unveiled last month. This newly developed motor is capable of generating an impressive 370 PS and 450 Nm in the base 4 model and 420 PS and 500 Nm if you upgrade to the 4S version. All these cars have a revised all-wheel drive system and come as standard with the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) chassis which lowered the model’s ride height by 10 mm.
As far as performances are concerned, the 91 Carrera 4 equipped with the PDK transmission and the Sport Chrono package will cover the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in just 4.1 seconds whereas the hotter 4S will complete the same task in 3.8 seconds. Porsche says the top speed ranges between 287 km/h and 305 km/h depending on selected model.
The sales launch is programmed for the end of January 2016 in Germany at a starting price of €103,983 for the 911 Carrera 4 rising to €131,234 for the 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet and the 911 Targa 4S.
