Porsche reveals 911 Turbo and Turbo S
Porsche announced today the all-new 911 Turbo and Turbo S which will go on sale shortly after their public debut in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Both of them are powered by a turbocharged, direct-injection, six-cylinder, 3.8-liter engine producing 520 HP in the standard Turbo variant and 560 HP in the hotter Turbo S model. All those ponies are sent to the wheels through a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch gearbox which enables the cars to have a fuel consumption of 9.7 liters / 100 km. This means the new Turbo / Turbo S models are 16 percent more fuel efficient then their respective predecessors.
In terms of performance, the 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo fitted with the optional Sport Chrono Package needs just 3.2 seconds from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h), while the more powerful Turbo S will complete the sprint in 3.1 seconds. Both of them will achieve a maximum speed of 198 mph (318 km/h).
We should also mention they feature a four-wheel steering system borrowed from the 911 GT3 and are riding on 20-inch alloys. Turbo S gets full LED headlights, hub wheel locks and a camera-based beam control. The latter is available at an additional cost for the Turbo variant. Porsche says both of them will complete the Nürburgring lap in less than 7m 30sec.
As far as pricing is concerned, the 911 Turbo starts from 162,055 euros in Germany, while the S model will set you back at least 195,256 euros.
