The Mercedes G63 AMG has received an aftermarket package from German tuner Posaidon. They focused on the V8 5.5-liter twin-turbo engine which in series configuration generates 544 HP (400 kW) and a peak torque of 560 lb-ft (760 Nm). Thanks to larger turbochargers, an updated air intake system and a tweaked intercooler, output of the engine was increased to a massive 830 HP (610 kW) and 997 lb-ft (1,350 Nm). The additional oomph was also possible by remapping the engine’s ECU and installing a different sports exhaust system. Posaidon had to update the 7G-Tronic transmission to make it withstand all that power.
After implementing all these upgrades, the Mercedes G63 AMG now sprints to 62 mph (100 km/h) from a standstill in 4.2 seconds which makes it 1.2 seconds faster than the standard car. Top speed has not been specified but it’s probably more than the standard version which is electronically limited to 130 mph (210 km/h).
