Sebastien Loeb smashes Pikes Peak record with a time of 8m and 13.87s

Sebastian Loeb is the new king of the Pikes Peak hill climb as yesterday he established a new record over the 12.72-mile course. Behind the wheel of a specially-developed Peugeot 208 T16, Loeb completed the run in only 8 minutes and 13,878 seconds, a major improvement over the previous record which was set last year by Rhys Millen with a time of 9 minutes and 46,164 seconds.

Millen improved his 2012 result this year by crossing the line in 9 minutes and 2,192 seconds but was no match for Loeb who had an average speed of 87,471 mph while Millen’s was 79,667 mph.
