Second-gen Nissan Qashqai teased, debuts November 7

Nissan is providing the very first glimpse of the all-new Qashqai which will be revealed in full on November 7, prior to a market release scheduled for the beginning of 2014. Nissan makes some bold statements in the official press release as not only do they say the car has been “reinvented from the ground up” but they also say the 2014 Qashqai has what it takes to “redefine the crossover sector and set new standards.” Details are extremely limited at this moment but it is believed a Qashqai+2 won’t be launched since this role will be held by the seven-seater version of the 2014 X-Trail.

Under the hood we expect to find a newly developed gasoline engine in the form of a 1.2-liter DiG-T that pumps out 113 bhp. There should also be a couple of diesels such as the 1.5-liter dCi with 108 bhp and the 1.6-liter dCi rated at 128 bhp. Chances are Nissan has prepared hybrid and all-electric versions as well.
