Shelby Baja 700 launched with more than 700 bhp

The Shelby Baja 700 has made its debut and is now heading to limited production as only 50 units will be built. It’s based on the Ford SVT Raptor (2011-2014 models) and comes with a slightly different exterior appearance featuring special edition graphics and hood stripes. It has a front skid plate and comes with 18-inch alloy wheels shod in BFGoodrich K02 All-Terrain tires while at an extra cost the model can get LED lights, Rogue Racing bumpers as well as power-deployable side steps. Inside the cabin, Shelby American has added a three-gauge dash pod, Katzkin leather seats, bespoke floor mats and an individually-numbered dash plaque.

In terms of power, the Shelby Baja 700 is equipped with a large V8 6.2-liter engine that has received larger throttle bodies, custom fuel injector, a 2.9-liter Whipple supercharger and a Borla exhaust. All these upgrades have bumped output to more than 700 bhp (522 kW). It also comes with Rouge Racing control arms as well as a competition suspension featuring three-inch King coilovers and bypass rear shocks.
Shelby American has announced the special edition carries a starting price of $45,000, without the vehicle.
