The Shelby Super Snake has made its online debut and will be limited to just 300 units for this year. It’s based on the 2015 Mustang GT and comes with a wider body kit made from carbon fiber which among others includes a front splitter, side skirts as well as a rear diffuser. Carbon fiber was also used for the side mirror caps, hood and the rear fascia while other upgrades worth mentioning include the rear spoiler, racing stripes, black anodized front grille and the WELD Racing 20-inch wheels wrapped around in Michelin Super Sport tires. Inside the cabin it boasts a three-gauge dash pod, short-throw shifter, Shelby-branded sill plates and special floor mats.
Most of the work has been done underneath the hood where the V8 5.0-liter engine of the Shelby Super Snake now has a Ford Performance supercharger that has boosted output to more than 650 bhp (484 kW). For those who want more power, there is an optional Whipple or Kenne Bell supercharger which increases power to 750+ bhp (559 kW).
The engine works with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox and has received a plethora of other tweaks such as an upgraded cooling system, Ford Performance half shafts, Ford Performance 3.73 gears and other upgrades like the one-piece driveshaft, Wilwood front and rear brakes, Ford Performance Suspension and Handling Package, along with a Borla exhaust system.
The Shelby Super Snake modifications start at $49,995, without taking into consideration the costs of a 2015 Ford Mustang GT.
