Suzuki has made a rather surprising announcement today by saying a new concept known as the iV-4 will be shown to the public in September at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. They dropped two teaser photos of their new compact SUV but refused to release any technical details. If we take a look at these pics, we can easily notice the corporate front grille divided into five sections, along with what appears to be a clamshell bonnet. There are also generous daytime running lights, very thin exterior mirrors, roof-mounted spotlights and more lightning units around the grille.
The Frankfurt event will kick off on September 10 and chances are this concept serves as a preview for a new crossover due in 2015 as a competitor for the very popular Nissan Qashqai. Our sources have informed us the car will ride on a shortened platform taken from the new SX4 S-Cross. From the same car it will take the engine lineup, FWD and AWD layouts, as well as the manual and automatic gearboxes. Expect to see a high level of customization once the car goes on sale as a method to attract more buyers.
