R-Sport:
Jaguar starts the lineup of the short wheelbase XJ with the exceptionally equipped R-Sport model. With a name like R-Sport one expects a powerful engine and Jaguar does not disappoint. Under the hood of the R-Sport you’ll find a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 engine that pumps out 340 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque.
The supercharged engine comes mated with an eight-speed automatic transmission and comes standard with rear-wheel-drive, although all-wheel-drive is available as an option. Once you move away from the engine bay of the R-Sport you’ll find a self-leveling suspension system, 19-inch wheels, and adjustable drive modes which make cruising along in the Jaguar R-Sport an exhilarating experience.
Warren Henry Jaguar (Miami) reminds us that the R-Sport isn’t just about high-performance, the full-size sedan also comes loaded with luxurious features too. As soon as you slide behind the wheel of the R-Sport you’ll notice not only leather upholstery throughout but heated and ventilated seats, a heated steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control.
Sitting in the middle of the dash you’ll notice a 10-inch touchscreen that comes with navigation, Bluetooth, Jaguar’s InControl app suite, voice controls, a 4G Wi-Fi hotspot, digital music storage, a CD player, HD radio, and satellite radio. No matter the source you choose to listen to your music from the sound streams through a 14-speaker Meridian sound system which creates an all-encompassing listening experience.
The standard features of the R-Sport don’t stop there either. The features list goes on to include front and rear parking sensors so you can park like a pro every time, adaptive LED headlights with automatic high beams, automatic wipers, power soft-close doors, a power trunk lid, and a panoramic sunroof.
Supercharged:
Moving on to the second trim available for the short wheelbase XJ you will notice a a big jump up in power. A supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine allows the XJ Supercharged model to race from 0 to 60 in 4.9 seconds. The quick acceleration of the Supercharged is thanks in part to the 470 horsepower and 424 lb-ft of torque pumped out by the V8 engine. The Supercharged model also comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission but is only available with rear-wheel-drive.
The high-performance features of the Supercharged model aren’t limited to just a powerful engine. So you can get the most out of track days or your drive around town the Supercharged model also comes with an active locking rear differential, 20-inch wheels with performance tires, and a tauter suspension tuning.
The features list of the Supercharged model is also expanded to include even more luxurious features. The front seats in the Supercharged model are upgraded to include massage function so you can really unwind from a stressful day on your ride home. Other standard features for the Supercharged model include four-zone climate control, front passenger-seat memory settings, and power rear sunshade.
The Supercharged model also unlocks several different packages and standalone options anyone is sure to love. The Premium Rear Seat package allows you to outfit the Supercharged model with even more luxurious features which include a rear-seat entertainment system, reclining rear seats with massage functions, footrests, extra-cushy winged headrests, fold-down tray tables, and power rear side-window sunscreens so your passengers can fully relax too
