Toyota FCV Concept breaks cover
Toyota has taken the wraps off a new concept which serves as a preview for the company’s fuel cell vehicle scheduled to come out sometime in 2015. The Toyota FCV Concept is capable of providing a range of up to 310 miles (500 km) while recharging the car takes as little as three minutes which is slightly more than you need to refuel a conventional-powered car running on gasoline, diesel or LPG. Truth to be told, the concept doesn’t come with an appealing design but hopefully the production version will adopt a more refined styling approach.
Getting back to the concept, the Toyota FCV seen here packs 70 MPa high-pressure tanks and has a power output density of 73 kW/L while the output is rated at a minimum of 100 kW. Toyota says that the concept has the following physical dimensions: 4870mm length, 1810mm width and 1535mm height, with a wheelbase stretched at 2780mm enabling the cabin to accommodate four people.
