Toyota GT 86 convertible teased, heading to Geneva
The 2013 edition of the Geneva Motor Show is fast approaching which means more and more automakers are announcing which models they will bring. Some of them, including Toyota, have prepared teasers to entice automotive fans to have a look at what they will offer next month when the show starts. One relevant example would have to be the Toyota GT 86 Convertible which will be shown at first in a concept form and if feedback will be positive the Japanese brand will probably decide to put the model in production sometime next year. The design sketch showcases the FT-86 Open as Toyota likes to call it, a car which is already in testing.
There aren’t any other details provided about the car, but most likely it will retain the engine of the coupe. In other words, under the hood it will feature a 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter engine pumping out 200 hp and a maximum torque of 205 Nm. Since it will probably be slightly heavier than the coupe, it usually means it will also be a tad slower but nothing major that would potentially stir away customers.
Toyota will disclose full info at the beginning of March when the Geneva show opens its doors.
