Toyota shows 2015 FCV production body
It’s an important week for Toyota as they have released the first images with the final design of the fuel cell vehicle set to go on sale next year. It will be available at home in Japan before April while Europeans and North Americans will be able to purchase one in the summer. The JDM-spec version will carry a starting price of around seven million yen (about $68,700) and will be sold at Toyota and Toyopet dealerships. However, it will be available only in those regions where they are building hydrogen refueling infrastructure.
There aren’t many technical details available at this point but we do know it will be the very first mass-produced fuel cell vehicle in the world. Toyota said the car will need 10 seconds to complete the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) and with the tank full of hydrogen it should cover distance of up to 482 km (300 miles). Refueling will take a mere 3 minutes.
