Trident Iceni is the fastest diesel sportscar in the world
What we have here is the Iceni, described by Trident Performance Vehicles as the world’s fastest diesel sportscar. It is available as a convertible, a fastback called Iceni Magna and as an estate with the Iceni Venturer moniker. All three of them are motivated by a huge 6.6-liter V8 turbodiesel engine which generates 395 bhp and a maximum torque of 700 lb-ft. The cars will complete the 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) run in 3.7 seconds on its way to a top speed in excess of 190 mph (306 km/h).
Trident is offering an optional performance package that increases the engine’s output to 430 bhp and 950 lb-ft while a track kit generates no less than 660 bhp and 1,050 lb-ft. A luxury kit brings heated mirrors, Alcantara & leather two-tone upholstery, as well as a Clarion multimedia system. A heated windscreen, electric seats and carbon fiber accents are part of the optional premium upgrade pack.
Trident says the Iceni can cover up to 2,000 miles (3,218 km) before running out of diesel or bio-diesel and is capable of providing a fuel consumption of just 4.1 liters / 100 km.
The starting price stands at 96,000 pounds and goes all the way back to around 126,000 pounds for the fully-loaded model.
