V8-powered Ford Focus Sedan announced for Global Touring Cars Series
This is the Ford Focus Sedan equipped with a V8 engine outputting no less than 500 bhp. The vehicle was created for the Global Touring Car (GTC) racing series which will kick off this year in South Africa. Organizers of the series have high hopes for GTC and they wish it will lead to a worldwide network of championships. Although it looks a lot like a Ford Focus Sedan, it’s far from being a stock car as aside from the V8 engine the vehicle has a rear-wheel drive arrangement and has been fitted with a sequential-shift gearbox.
GSC regulations imply compact sedans powered by V8 engine sending power to the rear axle through a sequential-shift transmission. In addition, all cars must have the same space frame chassis but the contenders will have the possibility of using different body panels which fit onto the chassis. The car seen here comes with a wide body kit, a lowered suspension, side exhaust and Kumho Ecsta tires covering the larger alloy wheels.
