Video – 2016 Audi TT RS spied at the ‘Ring
The brand new 2016 Audi TT RS has been spotted testing hard on the Nurburgring. It will be out sometime next year and obviously it’s going to sit on top of the range as the 5-cylinder 2.5-liter turbo engine is set to make a comeback with as much as 400 PS (294 kW) if we were to believe the latest reports coming from Ingolstadt. The massive output will be channeled to a permanent AWD quattro setup and word on the street says Audi has plans to offer the TT RS only with a dual-clutch gearbox.
It should turn out to be an absolute rocket as the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint is estimated to take around 4 seconds while the top speed will be electronically capped at 250 km/h, but there could be an optional package to raise the limiter to approximately 280 km/h. Those with a thirst for power will have to wait for a possible Plus version which will be even quicker, but this variant will be out later during the model’s life cycle.
As far as the design is concerned, the 2016 Audi TT RS will have a significantly more aggressive body with bulging wheel arches, a prominent rear spoiler, along with beefier wheels, larger brakes and a stiffer suspension setup which will bring it closer to the road.
A possible debut is expected to occur in March 2016 at the Geneva Motor Show.
