Volkswagen Golf SportWagen heading to the United States
VW will be offering the Golf SportWagen in U.S. as a replacement for the Jetta SportWagen but it is 1.1 inches longer as well as 1.1 inches wider. It will be available with numerous goodies such as Park Distance Control, bi-xenon headlights, 18-inch rims, along with climatronic and a panoramic sunroof. It can be configured with a 4-cylinder 1.8-liter turbocharged gasoline engine delivering 170 bhp and 200 lb-ft of torque or with a 4-cylinder 2.0-liter turbodiesel rated at 150 bhp and 236 lb-ft.
Gearbox choices include a 5- speed manual & 6-speed auto for the gasoline engine and a 6-speed manual or DSG for the automatic ‘box. Pricing details for the Volkswagen Golf SportWagen will be disclosed closer to the vehicle launch which is programmed for the beginning of 2015.
