What we have here is an interesting top speed duel between the Volkswagen Golf VII R and the BMW M135i. As we are sure you know this, the Golf has an all-wheel drive system whereas the hot M135i benefits from a rear-wheel drive arrangement. The differences are even deeper as the Golf R has a 4-cylinder 2.0-liter turbo while the M135i sports a larger inline-six 3.0-liter turbo motor. The Golf packs a 300 HP punch which makes it 20 HP less powerful than its Bavarian rival. In this video we can see both cars going one against each other in a 161 mph (260 km/h) maximum speed test.
