Volkswagen GTI Roadster concept debuts at 2014 Worthersee meet
The Volkswagen GTI Roadster is a real concept based on the Vision Gran Turismo created for PS3’s GT6 and it’s being characterized by VW as the “most spectacular GTI ever.” We are dealing with a jaw-dropping two-seater cabrio featuring 20-inch rims shod in 235/35 ZR20 front & 275/30 ZR20 rear tires. It stops efficiently thanks to its “supercar-style” 15-inch front and 14-inch rear vented disc brakes while on the inside there’s a dual carbon fiber monocoque, low bucket seats and a four-spoke steering wheel covered in Alcantara.
Motivation of the Volkswagen GTI Roadster concept is provided by a twin-turbo V6 3.0-liter TSI engine outputting 503 bhp and 559 Nm of torque delivered to a 4MOTION all-wheel drive arrangement via a seven-speed DSG gearbox. It tips the scales at 1,421 kg and can conquer the 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) sprint in 3.5 seconds prior to hitting a maximum speed of 192 mph (309 km/h).
