Volkswagen’s UK division has prepared the Amarok Canyon which starts at 28,990 pounds when equipped with the six-speed manual gearbox or from 30,720 if you select the eight-speed automatic transmission. It should be noted the manual-equipped model comes with a selectable 4MOTION system whereas the automatic version benefits from a permanent 4MOTION setup. Power comes from a 4-cylinder BiTDI 2.0-liter engine outputting 180 BHP and a maximum torque of 420 Nm. The engine is powerful enough to allow the Amarok to provide an impressive towing capacity of 7,054 lbs (3,200 kg).
Production will be limited to 50 manual-fitted and 250 automatic-equipped units painted in Reflex Silver, Deep Black and Copper Orange. The special edition is based on the Trendline specification but adds extra equipment valued at 8,500 pounds. The attractive pick-up truck rides on Cantera 19-inch rims and has been equipped with unique styling bars as well as Bluetooth connectivity.
The 2014 Volkswagen Amarok Canyon special edition also benefits from front and rear parking sensors, heated leather seats, privacy glass and a protective coating for the load area. Moreover, the vehicle features Nappa and Vienna leather upholstery combined with a leather-covered steering wheel featuring orange contrasting stitching.
