Volkswagen introduces Transporter Edition
Those of you interested in purchasing a utilitarian vehicle should have a look at the special edition of the Transporter that Volkswagen introduced a couple of days ago. Known as the Transporter Edition, the German van is already available on order and will set you back at least the starting price of 26,846 euros. To set this model apart from the regular Transporter, the people over at Volkswagen have created new 17- and 18-inch wheels, an “edition” logo and roof – with all of them being painted in black.
Other goodies include body-colored bumpers, central locking and electrically adjustable / heated mirrors.
The 2013 Volkswagen Transporter Edition features a new steering wheel wrapped around in leather, Tasamo fabric seats, while the gear knob and the handbrake lever have also been covered in leather. For more money clients have the possibility of opting for bi-xenon headlights featuring LED daytime running lights.
It is important to mention that this special edition of the Transporter van is offered only in the short wheelbase variant and with a flat floor. Volkswagen offers no less than six engines for this model, with half of them being gasoline units while the other half is represented by diesels. Power output varies from the entry-level 102 HP (75 kW) to the range-topping 204 HP (105 kW) variant.
