Volkswagen has introduced a TDI Value Edition of the Jetta in the United States which has a starting price of $21,295 or $22,395 if you choose the optional dual-clutch 6-speed DSG automatic transmission. The base model is a significant $2,330 more affordable than the Jetta TDI Clean Diesel and is motivated by an economical 2.0-liter four-cylinder TDI Clean Diesel engine which if connected to the standard 6-speed manual gearbox it will enable the frugal German sedan to return 42 mpg US (or 5.6 liters / 100 km) when driven on the highway.
Some of the goodies you get include heated cloth seats, electric power steering, 16-inch steel wheels, two extra speakers (compared to the Jetta S on which the model is based on), Media Device Interface and SiriusXM Satellite Radio.
